Each page needs a model connected for that kind of work. The model setup guide covers it.
Plan on the storyboard
- Open Create and choose Storyboard.
- Add a shot for each beat of the piece. Give each one a description, notes and timing.
- Give each shot a frame: draw it, drop an image in, or generate one. Frames are named after their shot.
- Ask Ape to build from the storyboard, or to tighten it first: "make the middle shots shorter".
Ape reads and edits the same storyboard, so you can agree the shots before anything is built.
Generate something
- Choose the page, such as Images or Music. Other operations a connected model offers, such as extending a video, get pages of their own.
- In the composer at the bottom, check the model chip, fill in the inputs the model asks for, and choose Generate.
- Results appear as tiles, grouped by run.
Use the Viewer and the Timeline as inputs
- Use Viewer frame puts the frame the Viewer shows into an image input, as a project asset.
- Drag an asset into a reference input. If the input can't take it, it says why.
- When a model asks for a region or a point, draw it on the Viewer's frame.
- When it asks for a stretch of time, it takes the selected clip's In and Out, or a range you draw on the Timeline.
Use the results
- Drag a result onto the Timeline and it lands at the drop time and layer. Drag it onto the Stage and it lands at the playhead.
- From a tile, place it at the playhead, use it as a reference, make variations, save it or delete it.
Everything Create makes is an asset in the project. Images, clips, music, voice and sound effects land in the Project panel and on the Timeline as ordinary media, and Ape can use them too. Sound effects arrive as audio clips you can fade and anchor to markers.
How the pages are built
A page is built from the chosen model's own declaration of its inputs, outputs, actions and progress, and a model can bring its own layout. Grapple draws it with its own controls, so a new model's page looks and behaves like the rest of the app.
If a provider's layout doesn't validate, Grapple shows a sentence where the page would be, beginning "Ask the provider to fix this interface layout:", followed by exactly what's wrong. It never swaps in a default layout that hides the problem.
